Wounded Veterans Relief Program

Dr. Maureen O'Flanagan stands as a beacon of hope for wounded and disabled veterans, extending her care beyond the confines of her dental practice. As a dedicated member of the Dental Advisory Board, her commitment to serving those who have served knows no bounds. Collaborating with the Wounded Veterans Relief Fund (WVRF), she amplifies her impact, ensuring that veterans in need receive the critical dental care they deserve.

The statistics underscore the urgency of this mission. Shockingly, a staggering 85% of wounded and disabled veterans enrolled in the VA are deprived of essential dental care. Florida alone is home to the third-largest veteran population in the nation, 1.3 million veterans. The backlog of veterans waiting for dental services is growing, highlighting the pressing demand for immediate intervention.

The WVRF is a veteran-led nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting wounded and disabled military veterans across Florida. Impressively, 84.6% of every dollar raised is channeled directly back to veterans, reflecting a commitment to efficiency and impact. In 2024, $200,856 has been allocated towards critical dental care, benefiting 124 veterans and counting. Dr. O'Flanagan's announcement signifies a crucial step forward in this ongoing battle for veteran well-being. By offering dental assistance to qualified wounded veterans, she extends a lifeline to those who have sacrificed for their nation. Through collaboration with WVRF's Dental Program Manager, Jade Sembric, she ensures that no deserving veteran is left behind.

In this endeavor, Dr. O'Flanagan and the WVRF epitomize the spirit of service and compassion, prioritizing the lives of Florida's veterans above all else. Their collective efforts stand as a testament to the power of community.
